  17.    1. ABOUT MAILBELL

  20.    This is the Version 2.x of MailBell.  
  21.

  23.    MailBell is a utility that assists you with your email.  
  24.    It periodically checks one or multiple email accounts (POP3, 
  25.    IMAP4, MAPI, Hotmail.com, MSN.com) and notifies you when new mail 
  26.    arrives (by playing a sound, showing a notification window).  
  27.    You can preview and even delete mail without actually downloading 
  28.    it into your mailprogram.

  30.    Additionally MailBell offers functions to preview mail and
  31.    to manually or automatically delete mail based on a list of 
  32.    kill-words or senders.  This allows blocking of unwanted mail
  33.    and deletion of mail with large attachments without actually 
  34.    downloading these mail into the mail program.

  36.    It supports Email via POP3, IMAP, MAPI (e.g. MS Exchange, Lotus
  37.    Notes), Hotmail.com, MSN.com but not AOL.com.

  39.    MailBell automatically switches between English and German 
  40.    language, depending on your system's settings (under Windows 95
  41.    this is the same language as Windows, under Windows NT it is the
  42.    Regional setting in the Control Panel).

  44.    The program can be tested for 30 days.  During that time you have
  45.    to press an OK button every hour.  After that time it must be either
  46.    purchased or deleted.  Order and purchase informations can be found
  47.    in the help menu and in the separate order application.

  55.    MailBell is (C) 2001 by EmTec, Markus Schmidt

  57.    This is a license summary -- see the license information in the 
  58.    setup program for details.

  60.    You may use and test the program for 30 days in evaluation mode. 
  61.    Then you have to order a license code or remove it from your system.

  63.    No warranty of any kind can be given for damage caused through MailBell
  64.    directly or indirectly or any other way.

  66.    The evaluation version of MailBell may be distributed freely via tele-
  67.    communication, shareware dealers or as a free add on for hard- or 
  68.    software products in form of an unmodified ZIP archive, or as 
  69.    unzipped files in an single directory with the name beginning with
  70.    "MailBell" and with no file added, removed or modified.

  72.    The following restrictions apply to distribution.

  74.     * MailBell must not be used in an army environment or for purposes 
  75.       that are related to the military or to arms production.

  77.     * MailBell may be included into shareware CDs if the ZIP file is
  78.       left intact or if all files from the ZIP file are provided
  79.       in a single directory the name of which begins with MailBell.

  87.    3. INSTALLATION

  90.    To install MailBell just type SETUP at a command prompt. The windowed
  91.    install program will handle the rest.

  93.    If you encounter problems of any kind, please try to install MailBell 
  94.    into a fresh directory.

  96.    Note: MailBell should not be installed over an existing beta version 
  97.    of MailBell.
